Our weekend intermediate carving course, is accredited by the NCFE and is a level 3 course. Set in our woodland in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest, you will be immersed in the woodland and learning new carving skills at the same time.

Description

Intermediate Carving Course.

Our intermediate carving course is one of the most comprehensive carving courses around. Accredited by the NCFE at Level 3, this in depth carving course is based over two days to give you time to get to grips with your new skills as well as put that knowledge into practice. Set on the edge of the New Forest, Hampshire, you can immerse yourself in our beautiful broadleaf woodland whilst sat around the campfire, the ideal setting to really focus on improving your carving skills.    

While you are on the intermediate carving course you will learn how to advance your carving skills by carving a Cooking Spoon, Serving Spoon, Spatula and Eating Spoon. All the materials and tools will be provided for you. Our experienced instructors will be on site at all times to give you one to one teaching and guidance whilst you go about your projects furthering your skills and knowledge.   

Our accredited intermediate carving course has a variety of projects to get stuck into to expand your knowledge and further your skills, covering everything from;

  • Knife Skills
  • Crook Knife Skills 
  • Finishing Cuts
  • Wood Selection
  • Tool Maintenance
  • Carving Grips and Cuts 
  • Extra Finishing Touches  

Though this is an intermediate carving course it is suitable for all levels and numbers are kept low so you will be sure to get the best instruction available.

When you have completed the projects set on the course to the appropriate standard, you will be awarded the Intermediate Carving Skills Level 3 award – NCFE Accredited.

As this is a weekend intermediate carving course and you can stay here in the woodland over night under your tarp or in your hammock, with an instructor onsite. Spend the evening around the campfire with other members of your course and discuss what you have learnt that day or just kick back and relax. This is a self catered course so you’ll need to bring your own food, however, tea, coffee and cake will be provided for duration of your time in the woods. There is a composting toilet in the woods and fresh water for your use.

About the NCFE
Our qualification has been developed to meet the specific needs of our learners and has been accredited by NCFE demonstrating the quality and rigor.

NCFE is an awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators for England (Ofqual), Wales (Qualifications Wales) and Northern Ireland (CCEA Regulation). As there is no recognised Nationally Regulating Body, within Bushcraft, Survival and wilderness living Industry as such this is an unregulated qualification and is not a nationally recognised qualification. This qualification can be used to show learning and formal training at a given level.  

This qualification has been accredited as a Customised Qualification and we have benchmarked the qualification’s learning outcomes and assessment criteria at Level (using a national framework’s level descriptors) to allow you to demonstrate the difficulty and depth of study.
